The Roofing Process: What to Expect From Start to Finish

Wondering What a Roof Replacement Looks Like?

Most homeowners only replace their roof once or twice in their lifetime — so it’s natural to feel unsure about what to expect. At Roofing Exterior Innovations, we believe in full transparency and communication every step of the way.

Here’s what the process looks like from start to finish:

📞 1. Initial Inspection & Free Estimate

It all starts with a free, no-pressure inspection. We’ll:

  • Get up on your roof (not just look from the ground)

  • Take photos of any damage or wear

  • Answer all your questions and explain your options

We’ll then provide a detailed, written estimate — not just a number on a piece of paper.

🧾 2. Contract, Permits & Scheduling

Once you approve the scope of work, we’ll handle:

  • The contract

  • Pulling all required permits from your city or county

  • HOA submittals if needed

  • Scheduling your start date based on weather and material delivery

We usually include 2 sheets of plywood in your proposal, and we’ll talk you through what happens if more wood needs replacement.

🛠️ 3. Tear-Off & Dry-In

On day one, we:

  • Carefully remove the old roofing materials

  • Inspect the decking underneath

  • Replace any damaged wood

  • Install underlayment and waterproofing systems to get your home “dried in”

This phase ensures your home is protected — even if there’s a short delay between underlayment and final roof system install (especially with tile jobs).

🏗️ 4. Installing Your New Roof

Now the transformation begins. Depending on the material you chose — shingle, tile, metal, or flat — we install your roof to Florida code or better, using quality materials from trusted manufacturers.

You’ll get photo updates throughout the job, and we’re on-site to answer questions or resolve anything quickly.

🧹 5. Daily Cleanup & Final Walkthrough

Every day ends with:

  • A full magnetic sweep for nails

  • Debris removed via dump trailer (not left overnight in a dumpster)

  • Tarping or protection for landscaping and property

Once complete, we walk the job with you, submit for final inspection, and confirm everything passes before we consider it done.

🔒 6. Warranty, Photos & Peace of Mind

After the job, we:

  • Send you photos of the entire process

  • Provide your 10-year workmanship warranty

  • Ensure you’re satisfied before we leave

You also get a copy of your permit and passed inspection — because you should always know what was done on your home.
